- Original carpet was frayed along each tread and loose on the winders
- Stringers had visible paint splashes and old gripper nail holes
- Client wanted a darker tone but was worried about it looking too flat
What we did
- Carefully templated every winder and installed new grippers to lock the treads in place
- Filled previous nail holes and colour-matched caulk before fitting
- Recommended Primo Ultra for its bleach-cleanable fibres and subtle heathered fleck to break up the colour
- Finished with brushed chrome single-pipe stair rods for a clean modern line
Final result
The staircase now feels solid underfoot, looks sharper against the white stringers, and the heathered grey hides daily traffic perfectly.
