As installers, we want you to be 100% happy with your choice. Natural flooring is stunning, but it behaves differently to standard carpet.
- •Not for damp areas: Plant fibres absorb moisture. They are not suitable for bathrooms or kitchens.
- •Maintenance: Spills should be blotted immediately. Unlike synthetic carpets, you cannot scrub them with soapy water.
- •Stairs: Sisal and Coir are excellent for stairs, but Seagrass can be slippery and Jute is too soft for heavy traffic.
- •Natural Variation: As a natural product, colour shades can vary between rolls and will fade gently in direct sunlight over time.
How We Install Natural Flooring
Fitting natural flooring requires specialist skills and tools. Unlike standard carpet, Sisal and Seagrass must be acclimatised in your home for 24-48 hours before fitting to prevent shrinkage. We typically use the double-stick method (gluing underlay to floor, and carpet to underlay) to ensure a stable, long-lasting finish.
