- Client wanted a runner that aligned with the staircase without covering the whole floor
What we did
- Sanded remaining adhesive residue and sealed the boards before fitting
- Used a slim natural rubber underlay so the runner sits flush at the thresholds
- Whipped the edges in a contrasting smoke binding that mirrors the staircase handrail
- Pinned the runner with discreet stair rods so it aligns perfectly with the first tread
Final result
The hallway now feels warmer, quieter, and the runner gives a smart visual guide straight up the stairs.
