Bleach-cleanable carpets are made from man-made fibres such as polypropylene. The colour is built into the fibre, which allows careful spot cleaning with diluted bleach on many ranges.

They're a great choice for busy family homes, rentals and stairs where the occasional spill is likely. They also tend to be more budget-friendly than some wool options.

The main limitation is that they don't always have the same natural feel underfoot as a pure wool carpet, and very high heat can affect the fibres, so it's important to follow care instructions.
