Sisal is a popular natural fibre carpet made from the leaves of the agave plant. It has a distinctive woven look and works well in hallways, stairs and feature areas.
The main advantages of sisal are its natural look, texture and ability to hide dirt in busy areas. It's also very hard wearing when fitted correctly.
The downsides are that sisal doesn't like moisture and is not as forgiving with spills as modern man-made carpets. We usually advise against sisal in bathrooms or where pets have regular accidents.
